Family Camping Trip at Hola Campsite, Cameron Highlands.

Wah - this is a very delayed post. Few more months and it's going to be 1 year ago thing.

Since we had our first camping trip here, we knew camping is something we would do again, and again. But with one main condition - the place has to be cold!

Venue: Hola Campsite, Cameron Highlands
Date: 15-17 March 2024

With the experience from our first camping trip as a family, we also knew that we need a good sleeping bed, and sleeping bags are not enough. We need like real bed, bed. Our car was filled up because we brought 2 foldable beds. Yeah, I know. We can just use the inflatable beds, but Alex and I got motion sickness, and we didn't want to risk it.

The decision to bring the mattresses was a good one. We had such nice comfortable sleeps please! It was so best. We also took less cooking things, but now that I think back, we could have brought lesser things. Since second time doing this with so many children, considered we did okay please.

We stopped by Ipoh for breakfast, since their check-in time is later on so make sure to fill our bellies first. My overly attached (which I love hehe) parents also joined us, but they stayed at a hotel. Boo. Hah.

Adam and Rhianne haven't started walking yet, so they were still quite dependent on us, which makes it slightly harder, but still enjoyable. We had just finished setting up our tent, and Adam was in the tent with us. He went to sit on the foldable chair and it lost its balance and fell backward.

That was when his head hit the floor of pebbles/stones. It started bleeding and we saw that the cut was quite nasty. We applied Vaseline, but just to be extra safe, we brought him to the clinic to get it checked and covered since it's the first day of our holiday.

There was actually no other way to cover his wound except to go around it so it looked like quite serious, but it was not la. We were still very careful with him the whole time though.

We also went for overly-priced strawberry picking because the kids have never done it before, and Sofia was loving every moment of it. Her favorite fruit in the whole wide world. Apple would be next I think.

Hola Campsite was quite nice to be honest. The place is clean, and spacious. The toilets are properly done, thought it was quite dark. It also feels safer with the gates surrounding us and the main door locked. There is also 1 caretaker nearby in case of emergencies.

I would definitely go back to Hola Campsite, but I want to explore other campsites first. Ohh, and we also walked to the night market from the campsite cos it's not that far - just got to walk uphill.

Overall, a very good experience with Hola.

Till our next camping trip, bye now.
